ABOUT MARA
A Social Sculptor is someone who creates interventions from a social-artistic context. In 2017 I graduated from the Academy of Theater and Dance in the direction of theatre maker and teacher. From 2017 till 2020 I ran the education department for theatre group DEGASTEN from and am the initiator of Platform The Need For Legacy.
I have been involved as a freelance maker/teacher/moderator with sQuare Amsterdam, Black Sheep Can Fly, Podium Mozaiek and BOOST, among others. In 2017 I was the assistant director of Adelheid Roosen during the WijkSafari. In the same year my performance 'Paradise now How?' was performed At the Right About Now Festival and in 2018, my performance 'Tossamossa' played at the RRReuring festival. In the summer of 2019 I collaborated with colleague and sparring partner Gerbrand Bos on the theatrical installation 'Actual Reality: Voor een Mus is mijn huis een rots' (for a sparrow my house is a rock) during Boslab Festival. In the coming period I am further developing my curatorial skills mainly focussing on shaping contextual programs, conversations and installations. I work together with DEGASTEN, Podium Mozaiek, Building Conversation and the Oerol Festival. |
